Zlatan Ibrahimovic Has Excellent First Performance

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has just recently joined the MLS as the LA Galaxy’s new forward. He is a veteran and has hooped around from many elite teams including Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, PSG, and his most recent team, Manchester United. He ended up landing in the MLS as the LA Galaxy’s newest forward. . His first appearance for the Galaxy was against LAFC and Ibrahimovic did not enter the game until the 71st minute. The LA Galaxy was currently trailing LAFC 3-1including an own-goal by Galaxy defender Daniel Steres in the 48th minute. This game looked like a comeback would be impossible. Not for veteran forward Zlatan Ibrhimovic. On top of that they were short staffed as it is playing without Romain Alessandrini, Jonathan dos Santos and Giovani dos Santos. Just six minutes into Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s appearance on the field he scored a line driver of a shot from 40 yards back right over LAFC keeper Tyler Miller’s head. Incredible shot and incredible start, but this wasn’t the end.

The score was now 3-3 thanks to teammates Sebastian Lletget and Chris Pontius. The game was all tied up, and the pressure was on. All eyes were on the 36 year old forward, as we desperately needed him. As the fans wished, Ibrahimovic came in clutch. In the 91st minute of the game Ibrahimovic, who recently recovered from a bad knee injury, saved the day for the LA Galaxy. In the 91st minute Ashley Cole sent a crosser towards Ibrahimovic and he capitalized. The cross was placed perfectly, and Ibrahimovic was set up for a perfect header, and that is exactly what he did. He led the Galaxy to a 4-3 win, and was only in for 20 minutes.

The 36 year old veteran told reporters “I heard the crowd saying ‘We want Zlatan, we want Zlatan’, so I gave them Zlatan.” That is something he for sure did. The crowd went wild, and he proved his veteran status as a superstar. I am excited to see what this talented forward brings to the table for the future of th LA Galaxy.
