Thompson : Jr. seems to indicate he’s been offered only $4 million per year

Dillon Brooks just assisted the Memphis Grizzlies in defeating the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors, though, were unimpressed with his performance, particularly with how he acted when sitting on the bench. The Warriors star Klay Thompson took exception to Brooks’ continuous shouts of “You stink” towards the Warriors bench. Thompson represented his four titles by counting off four fingers towards Brooks and the Grizzlies bench after the game. Earlier this season, he made a similar motion in the direction of Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.

Thompson didn’t stop there; in a postgame interview, he again disparaged Brooks. Once he retires, nobody will speak about Brooks, he said, and he doesn’t care about Brooks. Brooks saw Thompson’s remarks as friendly rivalry and lauded the Warriors’ prior successes while utilising them to inspire the Grizzlies.

Each club won two games on home soil, resulting in a regular-season series tie between the two teams. A Warriors player named Stephen Curry preferred to praise the Grizzlies’ overall effort rather than criticise Brooks personally. In contrast to the Warriors’ 13, the Grizzlies hit 18 3-pointers, and Brooks scored 18 points while going 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.

In their playoff matchup from the previous year, the Warriors prevailed in the semifinals in six games. On Christmas Day, when the teams faced off, Thompson yelled at Brooks while sprinting downcourt and received a technical foul. When the Grizzlies triumphed at FedExForum on March 9, Curry and Draymond Green of the Warriors denied the Grizzlies were a competitor. The Grizzlies still see the Warriors as a club to aim for, however.

It is uncertain whether their competitive banter continues into the postseason since both clubs might face each other in the first round of the playoffs.
