Primoz Roglic has confirmed to the media that he will leave the Jumbo-Visma team after the current season. He made this announcement on Saturday, before the beginning of the Giro dell’Emilia.
The 33-year-old rider from Slovenia has been a member of the Dutch squad since 2016, during which time he has won three straight editions of the Vuelta an Espana and the Giro d’Italia this year.
Roglic stated at Carpi, “I can definitely confirm yes, that I will leave the team, but we want to tell all the details as to where, after the races that I do,”
“So first of all, I’m here to race, so we’ll focus on this, and then we’ll do the next moves.”
Roglic, a two-time champion of the Giro dell’Emilia, finished third in the recent Vuelta a Espana behind teammates Jonas Vingegaard and winner Sepp Kuss. Jumbo-Visma controlled the race.
On October 7, he will compete in the Il Lombardia event in Italy, his last race with the squad.
