The New York Mets decided to give Matt Harvey a video tribute ahead of his return to Citi Field with the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.
Here is the video that they gave him:

I expected to be kind of mad about Harvey getting a video, but honestly, that video was not a big deal.
Harvey’s time with the Mets was filled with drama and he was a distraction at every turn. It made so much sense for the Mets to move on when his level of play was no longer cutting it and making up for the off-field distractions.
Had the video been a longer thing, I think that would have been unwarranted, but a short clip like that for a guy who brought more excitement to the Mets than anyone in recent memory is fine.
As disappointing as his Mets tenure is, when you look back, Harvey did help the Mets reach the Fall Classic in 2015.
The Mets and Mets fans I’m sure are obviously annoyed that Harvey has been so good in Cincinnati, but that’s how it goes, sometimes. Harvey will probably be dealt by the end of this month from the Reds to a contender for a much better return than what the Mets got for the man who was once their ace.
Harvey avoids facing his former team this time around in the rotation, but I’m sure that could change depending on what team acquires him.
Harvey has a 4.79 ERA overall in Cincy, but he’s improved each month and has had some very strong individual performances, which is why teams may be heavily pursuing his services.
