Lampard ‘not completely surprised’ by Chelsea’s struggles

Frank Lampard, a former manager of Chelsea, said he was not surprised by the Premier League team’s difficulties this year.

Chelsea finished 12th the previous season under the leadership of Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Frank Lampard. Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino took over at Chelsea in July.

With only eight points from seven games, Pochettino’s expensively put-together club is currently in 11th place.

I’m not entirely shocked by some of the challenges. I believe having seen it firsthand after the season,” Lampard said on Monday to Sky Sports.

Top managers include Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel. As a result, I believe you can see – at least, I believed I could see some of the problems, which were results-based confidence.

Having played for Chelsea from 2001 until 2014, Lampard, the club’s all-time greatest scorer, said he had anticipated the team earning more victories but “never felt it would be an instant turnaround” under Pochettino.
