Lakers Prepared for Free Agency

Free agency begins in four days and Magic Johnson and the Lakers are feeling no pressure at all. Magic Johnson who is a hall of fame inductee knows the game of basketball frontwards and backward. What he has done for the Lakers organization as a player and as the owner is great for the franchise.  Magic Johnson and General Manager Rob Pelinka have been the head of the Lakers front office since 2017. Together, they have been bringing in great talent for the Lakers franchise. Drafting Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma, bringing in Brooke Lopez and Isaiah Thomas. All while making meaningful trades that will guarantee draft picks and better the Lakers in the future.

This year, the Lakers have enough cap space to sign two star players to max contracts. Meaning the Lakers have a chance on getting two star players this offseason. These players range from LeBron James to Paul George who are both on the Lakers board for this offseason.

Magic Johnson has confidence that his front office will sign a star by this summer or the next. He also stated that he wouldn’t make a move just to keep his job, he insists on making the best decisions for the organization. He is not going to try to win over the media and the fans by making stupid deals that won’t help the Lakers at all. Instead, he will trust his basketball instincts and make the smarter decision.
