Flamengo parted ways with manager Sampaoli

According to a statement released by Flamengo on Thursday, the Brazilian club has parted ways with manager Jorge Sampaoli.

The Argentine manager, who is 63 years old, came over in April, roughly a month after he was fired by the La Liga team Sevilla. Flamengo, now sixth after 24 matches in the Brazilian top league, had signed him to a contract that would last through December 2024.

After suffering a defeat at the hands of Sao Paulo in the championship game of the Brazilian Cup, Flamengo was unable to defend their title successfully.

We can inform you that Jorge Sampaoli will not continue as the club’s head coach. On the social messaging network X, once known as Twitter, Flamengo said, “We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

The next match for Flamengo will be against Bahia on Saturday.
