Dortmund’s English winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens out after shoulder surgery

On Thursday, Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic said that Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, a promising English winger, will not compete for the Bundesliga title after shoulder surgery.

The 18-year-old winger has played 20 times for Dortmund in all competitions, scoring three times.

Terzic said Bynoe-Gittens had a successful shoulder surgery on Wednesday after falling in training last week. Terzic said he will miss “weeks and months.”

“We’re looking ahead and hoping that we can give him the support he needs as a group, as a team,” Terzic added.

Dortmund meets Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday, a point behind Bayern Munich with three games left.

In September, Bynoe-Gittens suffered another shoulder injury and missed 10 Bundesliga games until January, after the World Cup and winter break.

Bynoe-Gittens, who can play either wing, joined Dortmund from Manchester City in 2020, following Jadon Sancho, currently at Manchester United, three years earlier. Four England Under-19 appearances.
