Brazil coach Diniz is excited about Neymar-Vinicius combination

The 2026 World Cup qualifier between Brazil and Venezuela is on Thursday. Coach Fernando Diniz said he hopes to see Neymar and Vinicius Jr. playing together and is attempting to instill harmony among the team.

Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, will succeed Diniz as interim manager of Brazil after Tite stepped down in the wake of their World Cup quarterfinal elimination in Qatar.

The 49-year-old coach, who shares his time between the national team and the club team Fluminense, nevertheless intends to leave his stamp on the group and maintain them at the top of the South American qualifying campaign.

“(Neymar and Vinicius) are extremely good players, very intelligent, skilful and they like each other, there is also Rodrygo, a player of a very high level,” he stated.

“We hope they get on well in tomorrow’s game, as they have done in training, and that they can have a great game.”

Vinicius, who typically plays in the same position as Neymar, rejoins the team after being injured for the first two qualifiers.

“My first encounter with Vinicius was fantastic; he is now regarded as one of the best footballers in the world. Let’s hope he feels at ease playing,” he continued.

Diniz’s major goal in creating a “competitive team” is finding harmony and fostering teamwork.

“I feel a positive camaraderie from the players, who like each other very much, forming that feeling of family, the older ones know how to welcome very well those who arrive, both my committee and the players called up,” he stated.

Five days later, Brazil takes on Uruguay in Montevideo after hosting Venezuela in Cuiaba.
