Even though Bayern Munich has already earned first place in Group A of the Champions League, coach Thomas Tuchel has stated that the team will give their utmost effort in their last Champions League match on Tuesday against Manchester United.
Even though United is now in last position with four points, they still have a chance to advance to round sixteen if they can defeat Bayern on the road and draw Galatasaray at FC Copenhagen, who is in second place with five points.
The Bavarians will attempt to boost their spirits at Old Trafford after Eintracht defeated them by a score of 5-1 on Saturday, ending their undefeated streak in the Bundesliga this season.
A 0-0 stalemate at home against Copenhagen ended Bayern’s 17-game winning streak in the group stage of the league. Bayern had earned the top position in Group A with 13 points after their most recent match, but the draw ended their winning streak.
“I understand that some people thought that against Copenhagen, it looked like we weren’t throwing everything into it,” says Tuchel.
On the other hand, when you sign with Bayern or Manchester United, you commit to giving your very best effort every day. There is no other way not to act like a champion wearing the Bayern Munich uniform; there is no other way. Even though we are constantly under pressure, we have high expectations for ourselves.
“United will give everything tomorrow to get through,” Tuchel stated. “However, we anticipate that we will do an outstanding job. I have high hopes that we will be able to match the level of passion and energy that United will bring to the game.
Following his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in August for a reported sum of 100 million euros ($107.62 million), the German announced that Harry Kane, the top scorer in the Bundesliga, would be playing when he returned to England.
“Harry scores many goals and will be very happy to play here tomorrow,” Tuchel told reporters. “It’s a great story that we were able to bring the England captain … to Germany.”
