Formula 1 2025 Season Kickoff: Australian Grand Prix Set to Make a Triumphant Return

It’s great news for Formula 1 fans as the Australian Grand Prix returns to its traditional spot as the opening race of the season in 2025. Melbourne, known for its vibrant atmosphere and exciting races, will once again kick off the F1 calendar from March 14th to March 16th.

This change comes after Bahrain took over as the season opener in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The timing of Ramadan has also led to delays in races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, allowing Melbourne to reclaim its position at the start of the season.

Following the Australian Grand Prix, the F1 circus will head to China and Japan before going to the Middle East for races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Melbourne is set to host the opening race four times until 2032 as part of its contractual agreement.

The 2025 calendar features 24 races, mirroring this year’s record-breaking season, with only the opening events shuffled around. The season will culminate with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on 5th 5th–7th.

F1 chairman Stefano Domenicali expressed excitement about the 2025 season, highlighting the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. With 24 incredible venues worldwide lined up, fans can expect top-class racing, hospitality, and entertainment throughout the season.
